Thassos, Halkidiki and Corfu · 2020 – 2026 · 34 photos

The series gathers summers by the sea in Greece, in three regions: an island in the northern Aegean, one in the Ionian Sea and a peninsula in Halkidiki. Photos of the same place are grouped together, even when they come from different summers, and Thassos appears both at the start and at the end. The way to the island leads through Keramoti, the mainland port. On the island come the east coast, at Kinyra and Chrysi Ammoudia, and the south, at Limenaria.

Thassos is also seen from the sea, from a boat along the southwest coast near Skala Marion. The evening brings the bay of Psili Ammos. On the south coast, the cove of Salonikios is seen at sunset and, in another summer, by drone.

In Corfu, the series begins on the west coast, at Pelekas and, farther south, at Halikounas. The old center of Corfu town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007, and next to the Old Fortress, the church of Saint George was built in the 19th century in the form of a Greek temple. Near Paleokastritsa, a boat follows the coast.

In Halkidiki the series reaches Kassandra, the westernmost of the three peninsulas. On the east coast, facing Sithonia, lie Hanioti, Kryopigi and Afytos. On the west coast, facing the Thermaic Gulf, the sunsets are seen at Nea Fokaia, Agia Paraskevi and Posidi.

At the end, the series returns to Thassos, seen by drone: Rosogkremos and, in the evening, the capital, Limenas. The last stop is Paralia Dasilio near Prinos, on the west coast, from sunset until nightfall.
